Mitzvah Makers

Har Shalom's Mitzvah Makers program offers an opportunity for every person to give back to their community in a way that works for them. When you sign up to receive Mitzvah Maker emails, once a month you will hear about mitzvot and tikkun olam projects initiated or supported by Har Shalom.

By joining this email list, you will be the first call when a community member requests help with meals, rides, or donation items like clothing. You can participate in the call to action if it works for you, or you can rely on others to help if the timing isn't right. Our community is only as strong as our supporters, and we know with your help, every one of us is lifted up.

To request a meal train for yourself or another congregant, please use the Mitzvah Maker Request Form.

To join the distribution list, please email connect@nocoharshalom.org and type "COUNT ME IN."

Recurring Monthly Opportunities

Volunteer with Larimer County No Cost Market (formerly Food Share) through Har Shalom's Tikkun Olam Group

The Tikkun Olam group creates opportunities to repair the world, one action at a time.  A current focus is helping to alleviate food insecurity in Larimer County, beginning with monthly opportunities to volunteer at the local Food Bank. You can sign up for a shift here.

June 2025 Opportunities

Be A Mensch - Help Us Move!

Rory and Mia Martin are moving from Southeast Fort Collins (Drake x Lemay) to just north of the CSU campus (close to Elizabeth x Taft Hill). Having a vehicle isn’t required because we’ll probably have a U-Haul, so just people who can go up and down stairs and lift furniture and boxes. We also have two dogs, just in case there are any allergy concerns.

We’re hoping for 4-5 people for 2-3 hours (probably mid-morning to early afternoon). Our move in date is June 16. We would like to pay our helpers $18/hr for their assistance. Please email rorym8991@gmail.com if you can help out. Thank you!

Emma Pfeif Bat Mitzvah Project

Emma Pfeif is working with Big Bones Canine Rescue to collect donations of highly needed items as well as monetary donations. All contributions are much appreciated.

Host a Har Shalom Community Night!

Volunteer groups, families, or individuals are needed to "host" a Community Night (or two...). You or your group will be responsible for setting up tables and games, greeting people, welcoming them into the space, and connecting them with people or activities of interest. Host groups are also welcome to bring a little nosh, facilitate an activity or discussion, maybe even get some help with a project that requires many hands. Click on the invitation below to reserve a Tuesday night through Sign Up Genius.
